Assalamo-Alaikum,
It gives me a great pleasure that within the last few months, our Alumni association has become very active and has adopted a quite impressive communication methodology. For sure we are a vibrant organization. We need to keep up with this enthusiasm and encourage all of our colleagues and friends with positive feed back for their efforts and encouragement by joining them in the efforts to make our alumni a more progressive and a successful organization.
It is also the time to start working for the next year election process. The election and nomination committee has decided the following deadlines for the election process.
1) All those who have the AIMCAANA membership by the 12th of May, 2008 will have the right to vote. So please make sure that you are AIMCAANA member on or before May 12th, 2008 to have your voice heard. You can become AIMCAANA member by sending annual membership fee of $50.00 to Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America (APPNA) on-line at www.appna.org or mailing the check directly to APPNA at 6414 South Cass Avenue Westmont, IL 60559. You may fax the membership form to APPNA with your credit card information to Fax# 630-968-8677. The membership form can be downloaded at APPNA website.
You do not have to be APPNA member to become AIMCAANA member but we encourage you to become APPNA member too.
2) The deadline for the nomination for the Treasurer, Secretary and President Elect for 2009 can be sent via e-mail to Dr. Atique A. Mirza atique@yahoo.com by 16th of May 2008. Only AIMCAANA registered (paid) members will be able to send in the nominations. Any AIMCAANA member can nominate him/herself or nominate any other AIMCAANA member for any of the office bearer post only once. The candidates will be announced by the 17th May 2008.
3) The ballots will be mailed to the AIMCAANA members by the 24-26th of May and need to be mailed back by the 15th of June 2008 (post marked).
4) The election results will be announced at the summer meeting on 27th of June 2008 before the dinner.
The nomination and election committee also request the present leadership of AIMCAANA to submit the complete list of the members in Excel format by May 15th, 2008 to election and nomination committee so that the ballots can be mailed on time. Any delay in this regard will cause serious disturbance in the election process.
